Oh, what sights have these mighty appliances beheld in their long years,

standing sentinel over Upper Stone Street?

What mysteries do they contain?

I have seen it.

I have communed with the spirits of this holy place,

felt the power of it’s ley lines and blessed trigonometry.

I know it’s power, but more than that I cannot say.

Awesome, ancient majesty, thy name is Fridgehenge.

Two guys in Maidstone, running a second hand shop and white goods business, decided to build a henge from fridges to mark the summer solstice. I popped over this morning to have a look and take a few photos before the council inevitably take them down.

Much like it’s stone age Wiltshire counterpart, Fridgehenge has an air of grandeur somewhat diminished. A sight still mighty, but now a little worn with age, faded into dotage.

it is a sight that will haunt me for a long time to come.
